Base Structures

Driving a new website and communication strategy and developing new content for increased engagement with suppliers and clients.

Base Structures works on complex, bespoke projects across the events, cultural and built-environment sectors, from temporary installations and architectural canopies to touring structures and exhibition environments. As the business grows into new creative markets, there was a need to bring greater clarity to its communications, digital presence and marketing activity.

The challenge was to articulate a clear brand proposition, improve how projects were presented online and create a more structured approach to planning and delivery, without losing the practical, down-to-earth character of the company or slowing business momentum.

As a long-standing member of the Base freelance team, I was brought in to support Base Structures’ marketing and communications activity, lead digital planning workstreams for a new website and help shape its development alongside local Bath-based agency We Are Mud. My role sat across strategy and delivery, working closely with directors, internal teams and external partners to define priorities, create content frameworks and define ways to talk about finished projects.

This included positioning and messaging, website scoping and structure, case-study planning, stakeholder coordination and hands-on management to ensure ideas progressed into tangible outputs.
