National Trust

Working in a marketing & comms position at the National Trust Cotswold Countryside Portfolio, I looked after all press releases, social media activity and project comms strategy for the region.

Across its countryside and heritage portfolio, the National Trust needed to communicate complex conservation work, seasonal visitor experiences and community projects in a way that felt engaging, accessible and rooted in place. The challenge was to translate ecological initiatives, land-management programmes and on-site developments into clear, human stories that would resonate with visitors, members and local communities.

Alongside this, teams required consistent, timely communications to support campaigns, events and site operations — often across multiple properties and stakeholder groups, and within tight seasonal windows.

I supported the National Trust through writing, photography and communications consultancy, working closely with countryside and property teams to shape narratives around conservation, access and visitor experience. My role bridged editorial storytelling and practical delivery — developing features, press materials, digital content and on-site communications that explained projects clearly while celebrating landscapes, wildlife and people.

This included producing seasonal campaign content, documenting restoration and habitat work, photographing sites and events, creating newsletters and social copy, and helping plan messaging around long-term environmental initiatives.
