Cornwall Place Board
Leading editorial content, writing and commissioning for a new Cornish website showcasing culture, community, business and identity.
The Cornwall Place Board was established to bring together people and organisations passionate about Cornwall’s future and to shift perceptions of the county as more than just a holiday destination — showcasing its culture, communities, business sectors and unique identity as a place to live, work and invest. The board’s ambitions included growing a global network of Cornish Ambassadors who would champion Cornwall’s strengths and share positive narratives about the region’s heritage, enterprise and lifestyle.
However, this required a consistent stream of engaging, place-based content that could speak both to local communities and a broader audience of potential ambassadors and partners, while reflecting the diverse, multi-layered story of the region in a compelling way.
I was commissioned to lead editorial content for the Cornwall Place Board over a one-year period, focused on writing, uploading and commissioning stories that would give shape and voice to the initiative. In practice this meant curating and producing narrative-led content across multiple categories, including culture, community, business, environment and heritage, that reflected Cornwall’s identity and appeal and reinforced the board’s messaging priorities.
I commissioned and edited contributions from writers, photographers and local voices to broaden the range of perspectives represented, and I also managed the publication flow and digital presentation of content on the Cornwall Place Board platform to ensure consistency, quality and alignment with strategic aims.
In this role I worked closely with board members and contributors to develop content that was both authentic to Cornwall and effective in inviting engagement from potential Ambassadors and external audiences.
